Theodor Wisch is shown here in Évreux-Dreux area west of Paris, where Leibstandarte was stationed in the summer of 1942. At the time this photograph was taken ‘Teddi’ Wisch held the rank of SS-Obersturmbannführer and commanded SS-Inf Regt 2 in the Leibstandarte; he wears the Knight’s Cross awarded to him on 15 September 1941, the Order of the Crown (of Romania), Iron Cross 2nd and 1st Class, Wound Badge and the Infantry Assault Badge. He will later went on to command the Leibstandarte Division.
